I always know it’s going to be a good day when I get to start photographing at the Westin. The rooms are big and bright, which is perfect for getting ready. Photographing Lauren and her girls there was a blast. Everyone chatted excitedly and got into their gorgeous gowns. One of my favorite moments on a wedding day is when the bride first reveals herself all dressed. I love the shots of Lauren’s Dad seeing her for the first time as a bride!
Lauren and Ben got married at Saint Stanislaus, a beautiful church in the Strip District. Something extra special Saint Stanislaus does is during the recessional they drop rose petals from the ceiling. As if they weren’t already over the moon excited to be taking their first steps as husband and wife, the raining roses added another level of jubilance.
We stopped at Mellon Park for most of the bridal party portraits then continued to their venue, the Pittsburgh Field Club in Fox Chapel. It was my first event at the Pittsburgh Field Club and my goodness is that place breathtaking. It was a beautiful day so guests were able to enjoy cocktail hour on the back patio overlooking the golf greens. A nice way to start the festivities!
The reception itself was obviously perfect. From the decor to the toasts to that award-winning cookie table. There wasn’t one part of Lauren and Ben’s day that wasn’t flawlessly planned and made a reality.
